Modern Resume ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. By using Modern Resume, you agree to this policy.

Account information: When you sign in via magic link, we collect your email address to create and manage your account.

Resume data: The resume content you enter (name, contact info, work history, education, skills, etc.) is stored securely in our database so you can access it across sessions.

Payment information: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. We receive confirmation of your subscription status from Stripe.

Usage data: We may collect anonymized usage information (e.g., features used, error logs) to improve the product.

We use your data to:

• Provide and operate the resume builder service
• Save and restore your resume across sessions
• Process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe
• Generate AI-powered summaries and cover letters using OpenAI
• Send transactional emails (magic link sign-in only)
• Improve and debug the product

We do not sell your data to third parties.

We share your data only with the following trusted service providers:

• Supabase — database and authentication
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription management
• OpenAI — AI-powered resume and cover letter generation

Each provider is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

If you choose to publish your resume, it will be accessible to anyone with the share link at modernresume.app/r/[slug]. You can unpublish your resume at any time from the editor, which will immediately make it inaccessible to the public.

We retain your resume data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below. Upon request, we delete your account, resume data, and usage records, typically within 30 days. Subscription and billing records may be retained as required by tax and accounting law.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Data portability

We use minimal cookies required for authentication (session tokens). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication via Supabase, and Stripe's PCI-compliant payment infrastructure. No system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique email address for your account.

Modern Resume is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Modern Resume after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
